New hamster!

Today I agreed with the breeder Hamsterhiet that I will pick up my new hamster this Thursday. She is Hamsterhiets Gaia Dragasdatter, on the right below (photo from Hamsterhiet):

This time we are going for a purebred Campbell's dwarf. :-) The new cage will be delivered tomorrow, so all will be ready for Gaia to move in on Thursday!

RIP Vingdragån

Tonight I found Vingdragån dead in his house. He seemed old these past few weeks, but not ill. He only lived to be 1 year and 5 months old, which is surprising. I was hoping he'd be around for at least two years.

Mealworms for Vingdragån

Currently I'm a huge fan of the pet shop Zoo-1 here in Drammen. They gave me their leftover dried mealworm crumbs when they didn't have any for sale, and then special ordered them for me (well, for Vingdragån). My more local pet shop just informed me that no, they don't have dried mealworms, but they sell live ones. Not a pip about maybe getting the dried variety for me. I'm not feeding Vingdragån live mealworms, I do not care! Zoo-1 to the rescue, though, so now I don't have to stop in Oslo to get dried mealworms anymore!

Vingdragån is one happy ham.

Hamster names!

For the record; the names of our two next hamsters will be Baltasar II and Nusse II respectively, named after trilltrall's childhood hamsters!

Vingdragån is still alive & kicking, by the way. :-)

He's still not the most sociable hamster ever, but I do manage to lure him out occasionally.
